M21 Dissertation: Diagnosis of an Infected Affected person Essay

As you may know bacteria also comes in various classes and are known by their styles, chemical configuration, source of energy both sunlight or perhaps chemicals, dietary requisites and biochemical actions. We have a patient that may be contaminated with a mystery bacterial infection; we have collected a sputum sample and will be screening for one of the following overal: Bacillus, Escherichia and Mycoplasma. In order to identify which one in the three can be the source of chlamydia we have to acknowledge the characteristics of each one as well as the staining protocol needed to identify them. All of the previously discussed genera are considered to be people of the Prokaryotic cell family which includes bacterias. They have certain identifiable features that differentiates them coming from Eukaryotes just like: " Their DNA is not enclosed within a membrane” and " they usually divide by binary fusion, organelles are not encompassed within the membrane and the cellular walls generally consist of intricate polysaccharides peptidoglycan” (Tortora, 2013). When researching the differences among the 3 genera's have specific characteristics that distinguishes one by another; Mycoplasma are the smallest members of the prokaryote family, due to their size they lack cell wall surfaces or have a scant amount of wall structure material, but are known to flourish and reproduce outside the living host skin cells. The plasma membranes with this bacteria contain lipids (sterols) to protect these people from lysis (Tortora, 2013). Bacillus will be rod molded bacteria that are usually provided as unique (single bacilli); however when they divide in pairs they're called Diplobacilli and when appearing as a sequence it's known as streptobacilli; there are also bacillus that resemble cocci and are termed as cocobacilli. Escherichia also known as E. coli is known as a rod shaped bacteria including " flagellar protein” known as H- antigens to help identify the various servoar...
